Pino Aprile and Renanera

in

"TI PARLO DEL SUD"

( I'M TALKING TO YOU ABOUT THE SOUTH)

- musical -

Southern Italy, the scents of centuries-old trees, the sound of words and song, the taste of food, the bitterness of emigration and the emptying of villages, the economic redemption of the vanquished; Pino Aprile "speaks to us of the South," starting with a song he wrote for his friend Al Bano Carrisi, which lends its title to the musical show. This journey is told and imagined with the music of Renanera, currently one of the most popular artists of the southern new wave, the perfect travel companions for experiencing the South in an intense and engaging show.
A journalist and writer from Puglia, living in the Castelli Romani area, he was deputy editor of Oggi and editor of Gente. For television, he worked with Sergio Zavoli on the serialized investigative program "Viaggio nel Sud" and on the TG1 weekly, Tv7. He is the author of acclaimed essays translated into several languages.
Terroni, published in 2010, became a real publishing phenomenon, and the subsequent works Giù al Sud, Mai più terroni, Il Sud puzza and Terroni ‘ndernescional made Aprile the most followed “southern” journalist in Italy and earned him many awards, including the Carlo Levi Prize in 2010, the Rhegium Julii in the same year and the Caccuri Prize in 2012.

UN AMORE IN GIALLO NARCISO

(A LOVE IN DAFFODIL YELLOW)

- musical -

A co-production of the G. Placido Theatre Company in collaboration with Renanera, Fondamenta Teatro e Teatri, and Gattopardo Production

Created and directed by Gerardo Placido, a renowned actor and director, "A Love in Yellow Narcissus" is a play loosely based on the book "Giallo Narciso" by Donata Maria De Biase (Cairo Editore).

These are the words taken from the director's notes: "A production that makes use of talented artists, chosen by me, in which words and poetry will be the protagonists. Along with them, the art of music and the singing of Renanera to better express the emotions of this intense love passion. It is the love of Elisa (played by Underosa), a girl who recounts in a diary, a small love book, her relationship with a charming and handsome man. In the pages of this diary she creates a conversation with her dear mother, who, however, will not be able to reciprocate. One day, like many others, she forgets her diary on a train, which is found by a fellow traveler named Lorella, who happened to be on the same train. Lorella, who was sitting opposite Elisa, had noticed during the journey that Elisa was wearing strange clothing and a hint of sadness in her gaze fixed out the window, her eyes bright and red, perhaps from crying. She was clutching this little book close to her, and in her haste to get off at her station, she forgets it on the train. Intrigued, Lorella begins to read the girl's diary and, in the words of the sweet and fragile Elisa, she sees herself and some phases of the relationship with the man who had left her, and this perhaps becomes the opportunity to confront her "ghosts." Ghosts and mysteries that emerge in that reading and that intertwine in an adventurous love story in which there is more than one heart to save.
